Brief Synopsis of the Competition Rules

WKF Rules apply with accepted modifications by the Chief Referee.
|
|
·
|
Association Gis allowed.
|
|
·
|
Shobu Ippon Category will be decided on WKC Rules (White Gi only).
|
Kumite
|
·
|
Gum shields and WKF approved mitts are compulsory (red/blue) plus 2 belts (not Shobu Ippon).
|
|
·
|
Boxes and soft shin pads are allowed. (Combined shin and instep forbidden).
|
|
·
|
Glasses are forbidden. Soft contact lenses worn at competitors own risk.
|
|
·
|
WKF Chest protectors for female kumite events are recommended.
|
|
·
|
Bandages, padding or supports because of injury must be approved by the Chief Referee on the advice of the Official Medical Representative.
|
|
·
|
All jewellery must be removed or covered. Fingernails and toenails must be short.
|
|
·
|
The use of metallic teeth braces must be approved by the Chief Referee and Official Medical Representative. If accepted, then the Parent/Guardian/Coach (under 18) or individual competitor (over 18) must accept full responsibility should the user be injured.
|
|
·
|
All participants under 18 years must have parental consent to enter this competition.
|
|
·
|
All events will be taken through to the finals and the respective awards will take place on the same area. All kumite events will be for 1st, 2nd and joint 3rd place. There will not be a fight off for the 3rd and 4th places in kumite.

Kata
|
·
|
Teams must perform a minimum of 2 different kata.
|
|
·
|
Competitors up to and including 4th kyu must perform a minimum of 2 different kata.
|
|
·
|
Competitors 3rd kyu and above must perform a minimum of 3 different kata.
|
|
·
|
Kata will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place only.
|
Only FEKO Officials, and only ONE official Association Team Coach per Association will be allowed into the event and competition area.
The Chief Referee's decision is final.
All entries must be paid for before the event and monies are not refundable.

Competitors who fail to report to an area at the start of their event will be disqualified.
|
|
·
|
Any competitor, coach or representative who behaves discourteously to any member of the refereeing panel may cause the immediate disqualification of their competitor and could ultimately lead to disqualification of their whole team.
|
|
·
|
The named coach is responsible for the behaviour of all his/her competitors. S/he is responsible for obtaining parental or guardian permission for under 18’s entry into the event and checking that their competitors have appropriate insurance, through their respective Associations.
|
|
·
|
The Association Coach is the only Association representative who will be permitted to raise and objection, or discuss possible infringements with the Officials.
|
|
·
|
Please be absolutely certain that your competitors are entered into the correct category, It may not be possible to change entries on the day.
|
Forbidden Techniques
Attacks to: groin, face (with open handed techniques), hips, knee or instep. Direct attacks to the arms and legs. Dangerous throws. Throat contact. Excessive contact. Uncontrollable techniques. Rapidly exiting from the fighting area, Purposely grabbing, wrestling or pushing. Feigning injury.
Good control to the face, head and body should be exercised.
Spectator fees:
Adults: £6.00; Aged 5 years to 15 years: £4.00; Senior Citizens: £4.00; Under 5 years: Free
