For all claims the member claiming and the Instructor must have a valid Registration Receipt (pink slip or green slip for the FMA) and the registered Association must have paid all fees due.
Federation membership requires that all fees are paid. Delayed monthly returns could invalidate the individuals insurance cover. Cover commences when the monthly return is received by the Registrations Officer, with a reasonable time allowance made for the issue of the receipt and its registration with the Federation. Registration Receipt numbers must be entered in ascending numerical order along with an ascending issue date. Invalid Registration numbers are to be entered as such on the return sheet. Most weapon training is covered, live blades are not.
Training or competition abroad is not covered and separate cover is required.
£5.000.000 for training premises when the Instructor has a valid Federation Individual Registration Receipt (Pink slip/Green slip FMA) and the students training on the premises have valid Federation Individual Registration Receipts.
INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS PUBLIC LIABILITY COVER
£5.000.000 for member to member and member to public cover when the Instructor has a valid Federation Individual Registration Receipt (Pink slip/Green slip FMA) and the students training on the premises have valid Federation Individual Registration Receipts.
DIRECTORS AND OFFICERS
LIABILITY COVER
This is for Civil Liability and covers the Officers of Associations against action taken against them. This can be arranged via our insurers.
Extensions of cover for Open Tournaments (those involving persons not registered and therefore not insured by the Federation is available via our insurers. Registered member tournaments do not require additional cover.


Death benefit - £15,000.
Permanent Total disablement - £25,000
Temporary Total disablement - Employed person - £50 per week .
A person must be off work for more than 2 weeks before a claim is paid. Unemployed £15.00 per week. Junior £5.00 per week. temporary Partial Disablement, Nil. Total period 2 years. Loss of speech £25.000. Loss of hearing in both ears £25.000 In on ear 25% of above. Death benefit for junior members £2.000
Age limits for all the above are 5 years to 70 years inclusive. Cover can be arranged for above 70 years by special arrangements. All cover is for the UK & Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands only. Accident/Claim forms are requested from and returned to the Hon-Secretary. Claims sent direct to the Insurer, Broker are not processed. A registration check is made first before processing can proceed.
The Hon-Secretary must be notified immediately of a potential claim. The disablement must be as stated above, Permanent Total or Temporary Total and not just temporary. Cover requires ' good practice’ to be followed at all times. Any claim or potential claim must be made without delay.
Late claims will not be accepted.
INSTRUCTORS INDEMNITY INSURANCE
£60.00 for £2,000,000 and £80.00 for £5.000.000 cover
All Instructors should have this cover. As an Instructor you are telling your students to follow certain practices or perform in a certain way. Should they be injured by following your advice then they could sue you. This cover is taken out directly with the Broker and not via the Federation.
