FEKO 2011 CHILDREN AND CADETS OPEN NATIONAL KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Sunday 12 June 2011 once again witnessed a superb National Karate Championships held at the Harvey Hadden in Nottingham. This event, together with its senior counterpart in September offers karateka a real opportunity to demonstrate their skills and expertise on the National stage. As always at this event the popular categories being the kata for 10 - 12 years over 3rd Kyu and the kumite under 35kg also for 10 - 12 years.
The event started slightly behind time due to new organisational arrangements at the Harvey Hadden but once underway the event ran smoothly, there were very few injuries and very few complaints.  As FEKO’s commitment to develop its own Referees and Table Officials then it was possible to keep five areas running from start to finish with the showcase events - Shobu Ippon Kumite being something to savour at the end of the day.
There were some excellent performances and many of the competitors surely will  be forces to reckoned with in the future.
