The AMA International Open Karate Championships was held at Ponds Forge Sunday 27 February 2011.  FEKO entered  a small yet enthusiastic and motivated team into this event.
Current WUKF World Champion Amy Wright-Hamilton showed that she is improving all the time with wins in both Shobu Ippon and Shobu Sanbon categories. Helen Hibberd’s consistency of performance paid off by winning gold in the under 60kgs category.
Our male squad members performed creditability by taking medals in  their individual categories.
In the female team events the formidable partnership of Amy Wright-Hamilton, Heba Khafagy and Helen Hibberd took gold in Rotation and Shobu Ippon.
We now look forward with eager anticipation to the WUKF World Championships in Italy in May 2011.
